Director of Quality

Primary Function:
To manage, create, monitor, and document programs established to ensure total quality production of all products including raw ingredients, bottling, and packaging, oversee research and development of new products, and ensure correctness of nutritional labeling of all products.

Responsibilities:

  • Write all quality programs as needed and maintain documentation for current quality programs.
  • Oversee production line checks, coolers and pasteurizer checks, vinegar acidity on incoming tankers, review documentation from receiving and all production lines and shifts.
  • Oversee the testing of finished products, analytical and sensory and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with SDS records.
  • Assist in research and development of new products and modification of existing products.
  • Write product specifications, develop production formulas. Create nutritional/information and ingredient statements.
  • Manage storage and measuring of restricted ingredients.
  • Maintain nutritional labeling database, ensuring all labels comply with FDA labeling law.
  • Assist with outside inspections and audits and be prepared to conduct them when necessary.
  • Conduct annual mock recall and traceability exercises, including after-hours exercises.
  • Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for the Food Quality Plan.
  • Responsible for reporting quality issues to management.
  • Will assume Food Safety Coordinator’s responsibilities when the employee is not present.
  • Source of information for customer and consumer questions on ingredients and products; as well as technical information for company projects.
  • Attend monthly Food Safety and Quality Meetings
  • Complete online documents and upload them to customer portals through various 3rd party computer sites
  • Manage the activities of all Quality Technicians
  • Oversee the Organic Products Program and help prepare for annual certification audit. Be prepared to conduct or help with audit when necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 year degree in Food Technology or other science related field
  • Must have knowledge in microbiology and food chemistry.
  • Must have knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, GMP certified, label regulations, state and city health regulations, foreign regulations, HARPC, PCQI certified (or willing to be certified).
  • Must have experience in food research and development and sensory evaluation.
  • High degree of confidentiality of company information
  • Extensive computer skills
  • Physically able to climb stairs and walk throughout plant extensively. Able to sit at least 25% of working day with stooping and bending required. Vision correctable to 20/40

 

Production Associate

  • Entry-level, no experience necessary
  • Rotate positions on a production line packaging condiments, sauces, and vinegar
  • Pay range: $14 – $14.50 per hour

 

Maintenance Technicians

  • Maintain and repair PLC’s, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems
  • Maintain and repair boilers
  • Set up and operate drill presses, grinders, welders, other tools to make/repair parts
  • Troubleshoot machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Pay based upon experience

 

Warehouse Associate

Maintains warehouse and transports supplies and product from area to area.

  • Operate forklift machine in proper manner as required by OSHA regulations and company policies and training. We specifically use the Crown RC 5500 stand-up lift.
  • Move raw ingredients and materials from receiving warehouse to specific production lines in timely manner to insure that production keeps moving.
  • Remove finished goods from production lines to staging area of shipping warehouse so as not to cause production to stop.
  • Wrap skids of finished product so that products are not damaged in shipping.
  • Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
  • Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Pay rate: $16 per hour

 

OTR Driver

Deliver finished goods to customers while maintaining safe driving record and professional demeanor at all times.

  • Conduct pretrip check of all fluids, lights and load lock product.
  • Maintain driver logs, Bill of Ladings and other paperwork as required.
  • Represent company in professional manner with customers and while driving.
  • Must follow all DOT and safe driving regulations in each state.
  • Monitor condition of vehicle for safety and maintenance issues and report problems.
  • Must have Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must comply with all DOT regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • High degree of confidentiality of company information
  • Physically able to climb into truck, using handrail to pull self up into cab. Must be able to sit in truck for up to 10 hours, and manipulate 10 speeds and clutch. Vision correctable to 20/40.
  • Able to lift up to 85 lbs rarely, 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs from occasionally to frequently
  • Pay rate: $24 per hour
